An app to show the current lake levels, discharge and historical data for Lake Shafer and Lake Freeman in Monticello, Indiana
My wife and I purchased a home on Lake Freeman toward the end of 2019. I decided it would be a good idea to keep track of the lake levels and water flow through the dams.
Of course, why keep this information to myself when I can share it with everyone who is interested in the levels of Lake Shafer and Lake Freeman.
The data is collected directly from NIPSCO and stored in Azure. Then presented via this mobile friendly webpage. Data is collected every 15 minutes. Initially, I set it up to collect the data every one minute but quickly realized the values don't change that often. 15 minutes feels right.
